GOP candidate Chris Bauers won a Council seat in the North Ward, which is excellent news. He will be a very hard-working and smart addition to Borough Hall.

Marc Reber, though, was not retained on Council in the Middle Ward, nor was Ken Buckwalter in the West Ward. Both were excellent Councilmen, though, so we thank them for their service and hope the people of Phoenixville continue to have the opportunity to enjoy that service in other ways. There is a seat on the Planning Commission opening up…

Finally, newcomer Brady Appleman was unable to unseat incumbent Mike Speck in the East Ward.

The results in the judicial elections and the Chester County row office elections were better news for the GOP. It was a clean sweep– aside from one judicial election– for the Republicans. Of particular note for those of us in Phoenixville, we can welcome hometown candidate Rick Loughery as our new Recorder of Deeds.
